The Highton Residence demonstrates the high level of sustainability that can be achieved in higher-density residential projects. In achieving this outcome, a contemporary design has provided a highly liveable, comfortable, and healthy dwelling.

Located in an established residential suburb of Geelong, this project demonstrates a high level of sustainability achieved on a tight suburban block where north faces a side boundary.

  • 2.5kW photovoltaic grid-interactive power system
  • high-performance low e argon filled double glazed timber windows

Water Supply:

  • 4 x 4500lt rainwater inground tanks with automated mains water backup and 1 x 2000lt above ground tank
  • greywater system

Materials:

  • FSC certified timber window frames
  • extensive use of sustainable, recycled, and low toxicity building materials
  • radially sawn silver top ash timber shiplap cladding
